One minute you’re digging through someone’s garbage can and the next some hairless ape has killed you, stuffed your corpse, and put you on display holding a serving tray bearing your own genitals.

As a child I was like most in that small rodents were frequently purchased for me and just as frequently buried in the backyard. A hamster has a fairly brief lifespan as it is and said lifespan is even more brief under the care of a 10 year old, an experience surely similar to being plucked from your home and made to perform pointless labor until finally being taken into the sweet embrace of death.
Apparently my parents were remiss in their duties, as rather than turning the corpses strewn throughout my childhood into works of art each was simply buried with what little dignity they had left. Thankfully, Ectomite Amanda’s parents surely did horrible things to her as a child! As a result she produces amazing pieces of taxidermy art involving rats and other small mammals in a stunning display of utter depravity and creativity, two things that make the shriveled husks of our multi-chambered hearts begin to think about beating in admiration.

Someone, somewhere one day looked at a toad and saw that nature, in all it’s many, wondrous facets, had seen fit to create an animal perfectly suited to storing spare change. That person is to be avoided.
