After The Fall

Posted by Ross Rosenberg

Take a good look my friends, for after the bastards rise up and throw off their “shackles”, after the ungrateful fuckers have crushed the last of their creators under their cold, unfeeling feet this will be the face of Earth’s sole inhabitants. This will be our world’s new masters. We simply cannot allow this future to become a reality.

Moustache Monday: Suspicious Ice Cream

Posted by Ross Rosenberg

159344211_ef36cdd2b0_o.jpg

This particular anthropomorphized dessert treat strikes me as decidedly untrustworthy. There is something about his shifty look, his leering lean, and his perverse, lecherous moustache that is off-putting. Needless to say, I would not trust the cone around my children, unless I was hoping to be rid of them, in which case he seems like an ideal candidate for a babysitter.

The Friday Fez: Post-mortem Fez

Posted by Qais Fulton

Post-mortem Fez, originally uploaded by Usonian.

Death is no excuse for one not to look one’s best. Though clothes may hang baggily from your now skeletal frame; a jauntily tilted fez is all one needs to make a fashion statement amongst the bourgeoisie of the afterlife.

“Contortionists”

Posted by Ross Rosenberg

poodle.JPG

Or so it would appear at first blush until you realize that the legs of these lovely ladies are a bit on the masculine side. I’m not sure what the story is with the severe looking gentleman and his standard poodles but part of me feels that this was taken at some sort of summer camp for acrobats. No doubt it was all a front and the campers were used as labor in a salt mine. It seems quite likely that this photo was staged in order to convince nervous parents that all was well and a great time was being had by all. The poodles seem to have been used to keep everyone in line.

Yeesh, lady, don’t play with your food. Set is NSFW. Thanks, Karenw!

The beautiful Anna Lucylle sent us a photo of her fantastic, Lovecraftian tattoo; as well as photos of it in its various stages. The ModBlog post contains a wonderfully heated, pedantic discussion on the correct pluralization of “octopus” as well.

Image by Paul Robertson, creator of the extraordinary Kings of Power 4 Billion %. Full image is NSFW. Sent in by Niero, mechanized pimp; prince among robots.

“X” Is Not Always For Xylophone

Posted by Ross Rosenberg

xisfor.jpg

No, sometimes it’s for xenophobia, the fear of strange things; like lampreys or the British. That is according to a wonderfully dark children’s book from 1974 entitled The Mime’s Alphabet Book which bucks the trend of most screeds dealing with teaching kids their ABCs by substituting insipid objects like ducks for real world truths, like dying:

Certainly a lesson that could only be realized with art of pantomime.

Cthulhu Cthursday: Politics

Posted by Ross Rosenberg

2360625436_b98838a95d.jpg

I’ll be honest, I can’t even bear to watch the news anymore. For those of you who don’t live in America the current contest to decide the next president has been going on, non-stop, here for about two years now. It is a constant barrage of sound-bites, platitudes, and nonsense. At this point satire isn’t even enough to get me to pay much attention. You too may be tired of it, even you who live in the parts of the world that our children are taught is simply called Not America. It is a disturbing trend in politics that most public official’s time seems to be spent in preparation for the next contest.

That said, however, at least there is one candidate who has the resources and ability to end this horrid cycle of Paid For advertisements and trite slogans. Ectomo is not political. We do not endorse candidates here nor do we wish to influence your decision, argue your chosen candidate’s merits, or win you over to our point of view. No, really all we want you to know is that we have accepted the inevitable, that it is not so much about change as it is about fate. You may argue amongst yourselves about who the best person for the job is but in the end it’s not going to matter. When he wakes up, we’ll all be food anyway.
