Xanopticon’s music is often strange and alienating, with a speed and complexity matching most IDM but it’s sentiment being closer to dark drum+bass. It has been described as “waves of breaks: almost calming ambient music built out of intense rhythm structures.” Due to this heaviness, he is often compared to Venetian Snares, who has an equal ability for manipulating small snippets of sound.

Ectodarlings Ego Likeness are back at the helm of a cross-country warship, wending their way through North America to bring you the finest in auditory delights, obscenely inexpensive original art, and a collection of fabulous coiffage. The S.S. Ego Likeness (along with goth crooner Voltaire) makes port in Portland this evening and Seattle the next, the latter at which none other than myself can be glimpsed twitching in paroxysms of cacophonous delight that I’m told closely resembles dancing.
