Noise du Jour’s High Concepts: “Technology Crisis” by Tettix
Posted by Qais Fulton
Tettix, formerly known as Cicada, is a prolific electronic musician who has spent the last decade creating an astounding body of work. His latest release, “Technology Crisis”, is the soundtrack for a game that never existed, and one that I want very badly to play. Much like Bogart Shadwuck he has released the entire album for free on his website. For his generosity and masterful modern melodies Octobee demands you pay tribute.

Man, this is such a good album. I downloaded it and just put in on repeat for days and days and days…
Whatever game this was for I have a sneaking suspicion it would have rocked my face off.

For once, I agree with Ross.
Perhaps there can be peace between our two kinds.

I love this album too, though Cicada really IS a cooler name than Tettix.

Hey guys,
Thanks a ton for the kind words - a donor to the site linked me to think blog and I really appreciate the exposure. Sorry about the name change - there’s a million other Cicada’s in the world and specifically a pretty big UK group that has similar music. I just wanted to differentiate myself. Trust me, it wasn’t an easier decision to make.
Have you guys check out Tech Crisis II yet? I consider it like the Super NES sequel to what I imagined being a NES game.
Thanks also to whomever posted this blog!

So is he going to switch back to the name Cicada after 17 years?
