Noise du Jour’s High Concepts: “Bitch, Go Buy Me a Hot Dog” by Bogart Shwadchuck

Posted by Eliza Gauger

Once in a great while, the art and discipline of music is elevated to genius, and for a few brief moments (say, for the length of a single album), my ears bleed butterscotch and I am at peace. Blessed, unctuous peace.

Such an album is Bitch, Go Buy Me a Hot Dog. This work of genius was brought to my attention savagely, violently, by good friend DJ Intoner. “Fucking listen to it,” he yelled over the subwoofer at the local spooky club, “Don’t fucking argue with me, don’t even give me that look, just cram it in and turn it on,” and he thrust the sticky jewelcase at the spot where the strobelights had revealed me last, and crouched back over his decks. I didn’t argue, I didn’t even give him that look, I just went home (crying) and did as he instructed.

This is a concept album. The concept is that I tell a bitch to go buy me a hot dog, and she does. While she is buying me a hot dog, I wait patiently, and do The Robot. I eat the hot dog and it is delicious.

I offer this album in full here, as it is available for free download here. I do encourage you to tip Mr. Shwadchuck some of that sweet, sweet PayPal.

What a fantastic name, Bogart Shwadchuck. It just rolls off the tongue.

Everything about this album rolls off, and on, the tongue. I dare you to listen to this in its entirety and NOT want a hotdog.

Stunning concept album, and if played while viewing the Swing Wing, special evil reaches out from the screen and speakers to draw up a special smile across lucky viewer’s mugs.

Kudos to a site with such delicious one-two combo posts that combine for richly emergent fun!

Eliza, you are like some Erisian Missionary of ridiculously awesome music.

    Ghat-DAYUM.

    Are you fucking serious?

Some part of me is convinced that this post was specifically designed to lure me into at least making it as far as the samples… which are shards of pure joy injected into my aural cavities.

I will sleep better tonight for these tunes, those blessed tubesteak-shaped squaretones and sweet relish-coated industrial beatz.

The consumption of my next hotdog will be to you. I only hope I can find someone to do the robot while I do so.

Christ, I’ve kept up on Bogart Shadwuck’s work since Epsilon Minus and the Sim-Ronan days yet somehow missed this. Fucking aces.

I was very dismissive of “Bitch, I want A Hot Dog” as a “concept album”, but I did end up buying a hot dog yesterday, so obviously it had wormed its way into my consciousness.

Heh, found my way here by way of “where are these donations coming from all of a sudden” and a skim through fullcode’s referral lists. Thanks a lot for the shoutout, glad people dig this!

(Sad fact: I lost the masters for this album in a hard-drive crash early this year, it was crushing.)

I don’t even like techno and I’m bobbing my head to this. However, my girlfriend loves techno and when she gets home with the burgers (sadly, not hotdogs) I’m gonna have her listen to this.

really? That was the most boring concept album i’ve ever heard…next to the goddamn matrix revolutions soundtrack. yeah this is quality alright.. pure awesomeness only beaten by a sequel to a sequels wannabe industrial beats. meh. go listen to something with meaning. Or at least a climax. crystal castles maybe. at least there trying to build the genre instead of kill it in pool of its own waste. :/ i don’t mean to come off as a jerkoff but seriously… people think this is heaven sent? meh. hope is lost.

You’re a jerkoff. Go on, say “meh” again.
