Noise du Jour is Back: “The Enemy Guns” by DeVotchKa!

DeVotchKa gained some much-needed fame in doing the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack. They’re Gogol Bordello for the thinking man (or at least the non-peedrinking man), and I love them utterly. This is their missionary song: the song one plays for a friend when he “simply MUST hear this band.”

We have given our bodies
To the Mexican Army
But my heart and soul
Belongs to you, my love…

3 COMMENTS ARE NOT ENOUGH

Eugene Hutz once spit in my face. It wasn’t really an assault-like pthooey spit, it was more like accidental drool…but I am honestly not shocked at all that he would drink Urine. He smells like he drinks Urine. Never go to the Bulgarian Bar when he is there…trust me.

If you ever get a chance to see DeVotchKa live, DO NOT miss it.

It’s worth the price of admission just to watch Jeanie play the sousaphone in 3″ stilletos.

Yes! Cheers to Eliza! I have tremendously high regard for DeVotchKa…superb band.

Now i’m just waiting patiently for them to tour again. FYI New album comes out in March. Their website will take you to stereogum.com. An mp3 of one of the new songs “Transliterator” can be found buried at the site. (the link i tried to make refused to work)
