Futuristic Haberdashery
Posted by Qais Fulton

Speaking of questionable fashion choices, just in time for the impending nuclear and/or sun scorched apocalypse (or Burning Man, whatever) Ectomo brings you the Medusa. When this thing appeared on my screen I audibly gasped, it’s like someone reached into my brain and groped around until they found the specific squishy fold housing all my cranial accessory fantasies. With a hat and goggle set like this I would be unstoppable, or hilarious, or oft ridiculed and savagely beaten. Unfortunately I’ll never find out; with a price tag of $750 for the complete set my dreams of achieving total fashion alienation may be forever out of reach.
Medusa [Thanks, Melissa!]

I’ve seen a bike courier on queen west wearing this. Truly the mad max of our time.

Learn so sew, my cephalofriend. A whole world of accoutrement will open before you.

I can sew (poorly), my recent acquisition of a sewing machine makes this easier. I will likely appropriate this idea for a piece but if you have suggestions I’m all ears.

I also gasped - and groped for my credit card.
Then I remembered that Xmas has left me in such ruin that I have sustained myself on ramen noodles alone for nearly a month now.
16 cents a pack is oh so economical.

I can’t find a picture, but it reminds me a lot of the helmet and goggles combo that the “flying monkeys” from The Wiz wore.

I have a picture of Patrick Norton of the Screen Savers / Tekzilla wearing one of these. And also of Leo Laporte trying to kiss him while he was under said head tentacles.
Priceless moments.
