Octopus: MY MR. POTATO HEAD
Posted by Ross Rosenberg
This is Louis, a six foot wide octopus, and in the midst of Louis is his Mr. Potato Head, which he received as a Christmas present. Do not, under any circumstances, try to take Louis’s Mr. Potato Head.
‘He’s fascinated by it,’ said Matt Slater, of the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay, Cornwall. ‘He attacks the net we use to fish the toy out every time we try to take it away.’
You have been warned.

Yeah, this is the same Louis whom they’ve had to feed via puzzles, because he gets So Damned Bored.
Eat them while you can, because one day they will destroy us all.

The BBC copy is running with the fact that they hide food inside the Mr Potato Head. Yeah, a toy that looks like a human head and contains food? I am agreeing with Damien at this point - we are doomed! :)

I want to hug them both, even though my head also contains octopus food.

I rationalize eating octopus as improving the species so we will gain smarter, more clever tentacled overlords in the future. The dumb ones feed my sushi love - and one day the smart ones will breed and take over the world and eat the dumb humans! So in the long run, we both win!
