Denizens Of Hell Rendered In Paper
Posted by Ross Rosenberg
At the risk of completely undermining any stray vestiges of “cool” and “hip” that may still cling, however precariously, to my internet persona, allow me to profess a deep love for the art of papercraft. Long have I admired these pulpy wonders from afar, not confident enough in my abilities to wield an X-Acto™ blade without lopping off a few digits. These glorious figures may cause me to throw caution to the wind however. Based on characters found in the work of Ectomo favorite Hieronymus Bosch, they are near perfect in their execution and are available for download on the creator’s site.

Even though this is beyond doubt a great project, it should nevertheless be pointed out that the artist obviously took the inspiration for the designs from the Parastone Mouseion’s Hieronymus Bosch action figure set and not from the artworks themselves. I just don’t think it’s a coincidence that he adapted two “monsters” that are also available as action figures (1, 2). But maybe I’m wrong. :)

Pretty Bad-ass. The paper dolls and the action figures.

Suzanne - Aha! I think it is logical to assume that you are, indeed, correct. However, in order to save face, I submit that if your theory is correct then my original statement still stands, the inspiration being merely one degree removed! Someone, at some point in this chain was inspired by Bosch! ;)
