Cthulhu Get With Ectomo B-Side Contests!

By now, all of the ectodrooglings have seen our triumphant first salvo into the respectable print medium: the broadside.

Our xeroxed b-sides have been taped to countless telephone polls, where they have quickly transformed into mushy, unreadable pulp. What omniscient mind can count the number of drunk New Year’s Eve revelers that, taking a break from barfing and booyeahing to visit the toilet, have found their minds edified on the nature of toxoplasmosis even as they micturate? For that matter, how many hobos have wiped themselves with our pompous musings? Three? Four? One thing is clear: the b-side is a triumphant symbol of ectomo’s value as a whole.

With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce not one, not twelve, but two contests to celebrate our first b-side! One is aimed at rewarding readers, the other at distributors: winners will receive snuggable homunculii of Cthulhu, the destroyer of worlds. Contest details, after the jump.

1) Ectobee Coloring Contest: Print out our first b-side and color the Octobee in the middle. Make sure to stay within the lines. Upload it to Flickr or some other hosting service. Send us a link. Wait in anticipation as we judge the artistic caliber of your soul.

2) B-Side Distribution Contest: Distribute a minimum of one Ectomo b-side in some highly creative way. Perhaps you print them out in miniature on a roll of toilet paper and distribute them around the city; perhaps you could leaflet an entire city with them. Send us your story and photographic proof. If you just have a story, that’s okay, but please be aware we will heavily favor photographic proof, so extravagant lies must be either somewhat plausible or just really well-written.
