Stoner Urinates On Dying Woman

Ok, now I could write a long winded account of this event, full of breathless ranting, my neck veins bulging from beneath my skin as a torrent of adjectives floods the page but I’m gonna quote this because the facts are more horrible than anything I could come up with:
“A Hartlepool man is facing jail after he urinated on a disabled woman who lay dying in the street.
The 27-year-old shouted ‘this is YouTube material’ as he degraded Christine Lakinski, 50, who had fallen ill, magistrates heard.”
The story goes on to say that Miss Lakinski was on her way home and carrying a box of laminate flooring when she stumbled into a doorway. Then:
“Anderson had smoked a cannabis joint and been drinking when he and two friends spotted her.
He tried to rouse her by throwing a bucket of water over her, before urinating on her and covering her with shaving foam. The incident was filmed on a mobile phone.”
She was later pronounced dead. Now, here’s the thing: I’ll admit, I’ve smoked my share of pot during my time on this Earth, however I don’t think I’ve ever had the urge to urinate on another human being in the street and been so stoned that I would consider it to be anything close to a good idea especially when the person is OBVIOUSLY IN TROUBLE. I have a sick sense of humor (what it isn’t obvious?) but this is just awful. Hopefully, equally awful things will be visited upon this waste of flesh when he is sentenced.

Saw this linked by Warren Ellis yesterday and… yeah. Wow. This guy has problems that go way beyond smoking a joint or 2.

while i am certainly no advocate of drug use, i won’t be the guy who imposes his will on others. i would be more comfortable than most if we lived in a police state - at least then you really know where you stand under the law. still - recreation is what it is for everyone… i would never see that change, if i had my ‘druthers.
but FUCK… if i came across these wastes of flesh in action (cameraman included in that) - thanks for the words, Ross - they would be the ones most needing hospital…
EDIT: i’d written, here, a long passage of vile things which would make me really no better than the perpetrators. i just hope they get their comeuppance.
ah, the total failure of basic human decency… yet another sign of the dark days to come.

zanbowser - You actually bring up something that also struck me about the incident: what about his companions? It doesn’t mention anything about them stopping him and seems to imply that one of them may have been the person to film it. Makes me wonder.

This guy is truely scum of the earth but I’m not sure what this has to do with him being a stoner. Even sober he’s probably an ass, but he was also drinking as well. Wouldn’t that be more closely tied to public urination? Seems more like “Worthless Asshole Urinates on Dying Woman” be more appropriate?

I’ve noticed an increase in the number of BBC articles that mention violent or stupid things stoners have done. I never hear much said about the hundreds of drunken misadventures that must occur every weekend though.. or about the relatively minor dangers of cannabis, when again, nothing is said about alcohol.
To me, these only really serve to discredit the BBC in my eyes; as it seems to be catering to the current ‘trends’ in public health worries, and seems to advocate a future police state empty of personal freedoms.
that said.. it always makes me laugh when I see them refer to a joint as a ‘cannabis cigarette’.

I mean, hey, at least people have stopped flocking to public executions to laugh at guillotined royalty…that´s progress, right?
You could find some little monster pissing on a dying person through out all of human history, the only difference is that now they are taping it.
At least now this kind of behavior is considered an aberration.

I think this terrible story is a result of ignorant, maladjusted individuals who would have acted in such a vile manner regardless of which substances they had been abusing.
