15 Have Spoken

Welcome to Swift’s Burger, May I Take Your Order?

This is what I had in mind upon reading A Modest Proposal. My underdeveloped sense of irony and total ignorance of satire led me to the conclusion that Ireland’s fast food establishments must contain such odd menu items. I can only imagine how this would taste, washed down with a frosty Soylent Cola. Also, I realize that I have now written two posts relating to the consumption of children. This disturbs me just as much as it disturbs you.

15 COMMENTS ARE NOT ENOUGH

Finally, someplace that will save me the trouble of having to grind my own childmeat.

My wife and I are about to have our first child in January and we’ve already decided that next year for Halloween, instead of a lady bug or a Jack-O-Lantern or something, we’re dressing our daughter up as a book with the title “A Modest Proposal”

SpaceMonkeyX - It’s parents like you and your wife who give me hope for our children!

It would the the ultimate cure for the obesity epidemic. Fatten up and become a menu item, you have been warned!

Of course, it’s a double-edged sword, because only the eaters of such succulent meats would likely become fat enough to become the eaten.

Suddenly now seems a good time to become a vegetarian.

Also - SpaceMonkeyX, I recommend the addition of a sprig of parsley with that ensemble.

    @SpacemonleyX

“My wife and I are about to have our first child in January…”

I read the first part of that sentence and felt certain that you were going to continue it with “… And we don’t know if we should roast, broil, or bake it”; to which I would have replied, “Try deep-frying it like a turkey. It’s a bit tricky, but really seals in the juices, and with the proper dressing, provides a unique and wonderful flavor!”

Alas, you were actually referring to the act of spawning. Still, I think your idea is genius.

Speaking of Modest Proposals, remember this one from $trick9?

I fail to see why the two are mutually exclusive.

At times his father and I have regretted that we didn’t follow up on John’s first pseudonym of “the little turkey” that first Thanksgiving. He would have just about served the extended family, but there wouldn’t have been leftovers. So sad.

I’ve always maintained that I love children…cooked medium rare with a nice BBQ sauce. I just can’t eat a whole one.

    “…have our first child…”
just like lobster, crack them off at the hips. unless you’re into organ meats, all the good eatin’ is below the waist.
