Wooden Zombie-Fighting Robot By Ashley Wood
Posted by John Brownlee

Illustrator Ashley Wood — currently breathing new life into Jamie Hewlett’s post-apocalyptic girl power punk series Tank Girl — just released some shots of this gorgeous wooden robot on his blog, apparently part of the limited edition Zombie vs. Robots series of sculptures. This is the sort of robot that would look excellent in my bathroom.

Just for clarification Ashley Wood is a man.
I love his stuff and if you haven’t you should read his creator project PopBot.

Awesome! Ashley Wood is probably my favorite comic artist, and his artbooks are amazing to boot. I love seeing his work come to life like this.
Cheers for picking this up, Ectomo, even if gender/decorating confusion filled this post.

Bertie is on schedule for release in Spring of 2008. Bigshot Toyworks is producing the figure, and is working extremely closely with Ashley Wood to make it perfect.

Ashley Wood and Ben Templesmith… excellent Aussie artists. Templesmith I think is the perfect ectomo artist since he tends to have lots of squidly Cthulutonic thingamacritters in his work.
