More Street Art Outside My Berlin Bedroom Window
Posted by John Brownlee

More street art right down the street from my new apartment in Kreuzberg. Again by Blue, this time it’s a massive giant congealed from the flesh of a million naked pink humans. I move on Sunday. I can’t wait.
Incidentally, I know we have a few Berlin readers here. I’m moving there pretty much not knowing anyone. Any Germans (without mullets but with moustaches, please!) care to take pity on me and come out for drinks?

Neither German nor in Berlin, I’m afraid, but if you’re ever in the Düsseldorf area, I’m good for a few drinks.

Why the hell are you moving to Berlin?

Ooooh! That’s rather impressive - reminds me a great deal of Jon Beinart’s “Obsessive Compulsive Drawings“.
I’ll invite you to a glass of La Fée Verte in case you’re planning to cross the border to Helvetia once during your stay in Germania.

Silent Hill comes to mind when I see this.

That’s cool! It looks like death, but it’s crawling with life.
You are actually moving to Berlin?
wow.
Sunday?!

I heard that Berlin is a cool place to live nowadays for some reason.

Rune: Silent Hill? That was a boss in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night!

The little guy on his finger - where did he come from?
I fear the answer may be “the big guy’s nose.”

It reminds me of the cover to Hobbes’s Leviathan:

Hey, John! Have you tried signing up for Couchsurfing.com or Hospitalityclub.org? I’ve met quite a few folks from both websites. Great people, love to network, support travelers, socializing, etc. Don’t know what the Berlin communities for each site are like, but when I went to Italy, every region I visited had lots of friendly members. (To be fair, nearly everyone I met in Italy was friendly.) Anyway, best of luck with your new apartment! :)

Something else which might make the move to Berlin easier for you: There’s an open air screening at the river Spree of the beautiful The Call of Cthulhu silent movie (the one from the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society) here at a small Berlin film festival next Wednesday: http://www.ausgezeichnetersommer.de/festival_pro.php?mx=62#pre
(If my interpretation of the informations offered there is correct, a version with English intertitles and German subtitles will be shown.)
And, as mentioned, I’d be delighted to participate in a Welcome To Berlin And Take Pity On You drinking session :-)

Christian, let’s go to the Call of Cthulhu together! Anyone else want to come?

Hi,
I’m re-reading Clive Barker’s Books of Blood (Vol. 1). There’s this tale called ‘In the hills, the cities’.
Very powerful imagery, I think it has a lot to do with this piece of art.
