The Curse of Cheddar Bay
Posted by E. G. Gauger
Once in a great while, I am pleasantly shocked by the direction taken by self-appointed internet comedy teams. Once in a great, great while.
My friends and I have a yearly tradition that we refer to as LobsterFest. LobsterFest consists entirely of us comically harassing a Red Lobster restaurant and then seeing if they will be willing to serve us afterwards. This year was the 5th year anniversary of LobsterFest so we decided to go for broke and attempt to get banned from the restaurant forever.

Amazing. Clearly a group of comedy geniuses!

Tension. Drama. Epic action and a twist ending that drew a tear from my jaded, withered soul. I’d like the money I paid for current hollywood bile back to pay for this.

Never before have I felt so deeply touched by courage found in the human heart. On YouTube.

Eliza, I am shocked that you would promote this kind of haphazard slaughter of wildlife.
Gibbering Pelagic Alien Horror Beasts are endangered, Gloucester fishermen stereotypes are not.
Shame on you.

As one who has worked as a barkeep, among other food service related jobs, I can honestly say that something like that would’ve made my day. The most amusing thing I ever got was a drunken wife hitting on me while her husband sat next to her and attempted to give me the evil eye. :/

This gives me hope, dear Eliza, that if I maintain my courage, one day, my boys will be returned to me.

The funniest line:
My three boys… Barry, Terry, and Enrique.

amusing…if real.
But i strongly suspect it’s viral marketing for Redlobster.
can anyone prove or disprove?

Cheddar Bay…Cheddar Biscuits…Old Bay Seasoning…what isn’t to believe? This is clearly a Red Lobster viral marketing campaign. Then again, I am clearly a spokesman for John John Silvers, so I am not to be believed either.

Not only was this the real unpaid work of 6 very bored individuals, all music and sound FX were played live at the location.
Best Regards,
The Captain

@sceptic: i doubt your hypothesis. It’s too awkward in the beginning, where everyone is clearly trying to avoid eye contact with the storyteller, including the restaurant staff. Plus Red Lobster “Just can’t have costumed people coming in here.” It’s not sublime enough to be viral marketing. It is Frickin Awesome though.

For fuck’s sake guys, it’s NOT a viral ad.
