James Graham Ballard: 1930 – 2009

I would sum up my fear about the future in one word: boring. And that’s my one fear: that everything has happened; nothing exciting or new or interesting is ever going to happen again… the future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul.
-J.G. Ballard
Thanks for the quote, Nadya!

Thanks for the Crash, the first novel I read of yours, and for the rest of it – the alien and the familiar.
We will try to keep the future from being boring; although powerful forces work against us, the future will be stranger.

Thanks for the insight into the twisted metal and even wickedest human mind. RIP.

Goodbye J.G. Ballard, I’ve read you all my life. The world will be poorer without you. We should only be so lucky as to be bored in the future.
