Portraits of deranged youth, possibly unsafe for work and for soul, but deeply affecting.

I am not sure if you are aware of the furore that has been caused in the last weeks in Australia, by Bill Henson’s artistic photographs of children. Indignant conservatives had the police shut down his exhibition and even our philistine fuckwit of a prime minister condemned them as having no artistic value..

.. perhaps we need Sergey Bratkov to come over to our shores and really stir the pot.

Sure there’s artistic value….but the artistic value is of far less value than the innocents of a child. Coaching a child into the sophisticated poses in these photographs, while they should be playing is distasteful.

child porn! In my internet?!
But seriously you guys you are starting to scare me.
Sure I could handle the fetishism and lurid topics of the old days. And I turned the other cheek at the whole “furry” incident (I still get nightmares, no offense to aforementioned “furry[s]“).
But enough is enough. Jesus even I have standards!
(Thank god they are low)

I personally don’t think the sexualisation of children is fair, despite the artistic merit. Bill Henson’s photographs didn’t cross that line, but these.. i’m not so sure. Its fine for us to scratch our chins and contemplate the meaning of such images.. but innocence.. it doesn’t last long as it is.

There isn’t any sensuality to those photos, I think the photographer needs more practice. I don’t have a problem with the concept, I have a problem with how its done.

Yes no one is complaining about adult regressive behavior, only the tarting of the innocents. Now let’s get some toons on here chop chop or there will be droogling tantrumz.

And the point would be? (Other than validating pedophiles’ skewed view of the world?)
This crap is beneath you. Not only is it vile, it’s not even very good. Yawn.

Oh boo hoo, don’t let the haters hate on you Eliza.
Maybe the “artist” was making a statement on what is CP and what is not…it’s slightly better than piss christ at least.
Or maybe it’s just the Russian hipsters that found livejournal and imbibing some of their nihilistic sense of humor – in two-three years you will see some Russians on myspace and facebook, watch.
Or maybe I’m just an “uptightus americanus”
