Photographs from the San Francisco Scientology protests are up at Ectomo’s flickr. San Francisco is being called the best dressed protest, though it was probably only around 200 people. I was very impressed with the level of professionalism, politeness, and focus. There was an almost total lack of meaningless catchphrases and memes, though I think a certain amount of that is good for morale. I observed a huge amount of public and police support for the cause and the action, and people actually read the flyers they were handed.
Well done, San Francisco.

While this may be true of San Francisco, I have heard just the opposite about many of the other rallies. In fact, I had friends who happened to pass by the Sacramento rally, and were harassed by the protesters. They weren’t leaving or entering the CoS, they just happened to walk by the protest wearing suits, and we thus assumed to be “Republicans” according to the protesters. I’m all for protest and taking the CoS down a few notches, but the effectiveness of this particular protest seems to be not.

I’m sorry to hear that. A lot of the SF protestors were wearing suits, while the Scientologists we saw were very casual, or LA-looking. And old.

So what exactly did the CoS do last week to garner such sudden protests from this Anonymous group & their followers? I’m not sure where to look for the source & explanation of all this activity.

I think it was a combination of the leaked Tom Cruise video and that Anonymous just got bored.

I watched that leaked video of Tom Cruise & it’s pretty much jibberish. Especially grating because that 5 second loop of the MI theme kept going for nine minutes.
