Ectomo Goes Print for the Very First Time!
Posted by E. G. Gauger
Four Red Bulls, twenty hours, and a bag of squid chips later, it is done. The very first Ectoplamosis print broadside is ready for distribution.
But soft, ye say, what in blazes am I talking about? I’ll let Warren Ellis, Big Daddy to Ectomo’s Little Sister, explain:
The broadside has a centuries-long history as a device for disseminating news and ideas. I mean, flyers go up on the web to be printed off, sure. But it’s not quite the same thing. Getting an idea, or a piece of writing, on a single sheet and saying, yes, print this off, copy it and distribute it wherever you like — that’d be interesting.
In short, a single-page guerilla publication, distributed by xerox and zealous reader in coffee shops, cubicle farms, club bathrooms, 24-hour greasy spoon diners, on telephone poles, shoved under windshield wipers, wiped under windshield shovers, safety-pinned on unsuspecting hobos, and fluttering in a comet tail behind us, wherever we may roam.
The first episode of ECTOPLASMOSIS! is offered in three editions:
- US Letter 8.5 x 11″ one-side printed sheet: broadside1_standard_final.pdf
- 8.5 x 11″ borderless, all the way to the EDGE, man! For people with printers who can handle “borderless” printing: broadside1_borderless_final.pdf
- Eurotrash A4 8.3 x 11.7″, for our international clientele: broadside1_a4_final.pdf
This broadside is formatted specifically for easy printing and xeroxing, and features original artwork, an updated version of my famous Toxoplasmosis article, vintage illustrations, and an octobee coloring contest! Those of you who wish to curry our excellent favor, print and distribute with zest and enthusiasm! You will be rewarded in this life, and the next.
Stay tuned for more information about the coloring contest, a distribution contest, and other blunt mutterings from Brownlee.

I will not be herdsmen or gravedigger. I will speak again to the people: I have spoken to a dead man for the last time.
I will make company with creators, with harvesters, with rejoicers: I will show them the rainbow and the stairway to the Superman.

I’ve been meaning to ask who the fuck Ross and Qais are, though I believe they were brought in to pick up Brownlee’s slack while he lounged around to collect the tidy paycheque. Kudos to the two originals for letting them have the first laughs on this.
At this juncture I’d like to let you know that I really, I mean REALLY FUCKING REALLY FOR REALLY REALS, hate having to load Acrobat. Dear lord, would it be possible to use something like Flash Paper from now on? I’d attempt to seduce Eliza if this could be done, knowing that although my death would be assured if such an event were to occur, future generations would benefit from the loss of a solitary Ninja-bot.
We’re manufactured by the dozens in Taiwan anyways.

Um, yeah. What he said.
Seriously, though. I thank you for providing the ultimate anti-Evangelist defense. Just start distrubuting these things. From a distance, they may assume somebody else is converting heathens. If they get to close, they shall be driven mad by the horrors printed upon these broadsides. Or something like that.

I’ve colored 10 copies and will be handing them out at C’est What in Toronto tonight, PDF format or not!
I hope a Real Doll with Cthluhu Vaginal Tendrils is the prize.

@Ninja-bot
Dude. I hate Acrobat Reader with a burning passion that can only be properly compared to a million napalmed gerbils. However, this does not prevent me from grabbing and using these delicious PDF’d tidbits. On the contrary, it couldn’t be simpler.
I would point you in the direction of Foxit Reader. http://www.download.com/Foxit-PDF-Reader/3000-2079_4-10313206.html (No direct affiliation to Firefox, I think.)
Thanks to the magic of this little program, I can open PDFs and still have a functional computer before, during and after. Take THAT, Acrobat.
Now then…
Dearest Overlords,
Thank you for this papery bounty! Should we consider this an early first anniversary present?
I plan to plaster this in as many places as is allowable.
