My Dinner With Adolf
Posted by John Brownlee

Adolf Hitler? In most western countries he is viewed as history’s most evil man, and almost all are aware of the horrific genocide he was responsible for, with many having had family fight and/or die in the war against Nazi Germany.
However, in Asia, Hitler is a far more distant figure. This distance might be an explanation for the bizarre case of Hitler restaurants and bars that can be found throughout Asia.
This all seems pretty funny at first. Those wacky Asians! But then you head on down for a coffee at your local Communist-themed coffee bar and come face-to-face with a gigantic mural in which the rosy and moustached face of Josef Stalin benevolently sips a grande mocha latte while beaming down upon you, and you realize re-appropriating mass murders as corporate mascots is a surprisingly common branding practice, when they aren’t already pushing anthropomorphical rats and ghoulish clowns down upon you.

Exactly. They just need to get Hitler a trendy t-shirt design and get that on a few “edgy” musicians out there for the kids to see and in no time flat you could have a fashion trend that would make a lot of people’s grandparents really sad.
