Eyeball Tattooed, Dune Electric Blue
Posted by John Brownlee

Eyeball tattooing, to attain the electric blue eyes of the Arrakian spice melange addict. Along with the inside of my urethra, the surface of the cornea comes low on my list of preferred tattooing canvases: a sneeze, a static shock, a spastic twitch, a full-on epileptic seizure.

Can’t wait for the full body Wookiee hair plugs, or the Klingon forehead bone graft.

thats absolutely making me blue with envy….for having two regular eyes

@Peregrine:
Forehead implants have already been done several times. Nobody has done one as extreme or detailed as a Klingon forehead, to my knowledge, however.

Reading about this procedure and looking at these pictures makes me want to cry and eat blue cotton candy. I’d rather pierce my ass. Which is apparently possible…

Why on earth would anyone tattoo their eyeball? That guy is probably blind now. Fucking losers.
Comment by FuckYou — July 11, 2007 @ 2:48 am
In general, I think that tattoos are one of the least appealing things that an individual can do to their body. However, this is completely amazing. Behold, a blue-eyed god, I will now erect a temple to him.
Comment by Daniel — July 11, 2007 @ 3:21 am
Ridiculous. I hope they do go blind so that this ludicrous practice doesn’t spread.
Does bad taste know no bounds? Apparently not! :-)

Looks like a photoshop job to me.
Notice blue eyelashes and other sloppy editing. They could have at least zoomed in to keep it clean.

Yeah, that picture is not photoshopped. I actually met the artist who did it and he says the blue around the eye is just excess ink, this picture was just taken in the middle of the “operation”. The guy who had it done had to sign a waver in case of blindness or infection but as far as I can tell he’s recieved no complaints. So if any of you are crazy enough to get it done just remember it’s permanent. :)

This is not fake or photoshopped in any way. I’m not 100% sure but I think the guy in the pic was on CSI:NY. There’s only a few people to ever have it done, but it has been done.

I have never heard of someone tattooing their eye but now that I see it is more like dieing the eye I am not cringing as much. It still looks disgusting!

Gee, this guy must have a really good job, huh? Like, um, heroin dealer or something. Think he’ll be able to talk his way out of his next traffic ticket? “No officer. I don’t have any drugs or weapons. Do I really look like that type, sir?” Get a life. Instead of trying to be different by only appearing different on the surface, why don’t you truly add to yourself as a person/human and improve yourself on the inside, making yourself truly unique. It’s only a matter of time until some retarded genius decides to get modified to look just like Darth Maul. Superficial change is no change at all, and I actually like classy, appropriate, medically safe tattoos. This eyeball tattooing does not qualify as such.

On a different note, why would anyone want to tattoo their urethra? whats next? a tattoo’d spleen?
Comment by scottus — January 15, 2008 @ 4:40 pm
Uhm yah Mike….Let me tell you a little something about improving yourself on the inside….
People don’t give a shit. It’s outward appearances that matter the most whether you like it or not. No go eat a bowl of dicks.

If you get a tat you regret, you’re just stoopid. Put more thought into it than 5 seconds and a few beers, fool. As for tatting the eyes…. to each his own. And for the weiner that stayed anonymous AND recommended that Mike eat a bowl of dicks… get some manners!! Mike’s comments were articulate and intelligent. Anon – proof read your comments before submitting.

LOL…..idiots. Why don’t we just stick a hose up our butts….send blue dye to our skin, and call ourselves smurfs!
Comment by Don — February 13, 2008 @ 1:16 pm
I don’t want my eyeballs tattooed, but I would rather have them tattooed than to be a person who is fixated on other people’s appearences. Also believing I have the answers on what people should do or don’t with their own bodies.
Comment by Danny — February 13, 2008 @ 3:44 pm
I find it funny that someone would tak the time to locate this site and have the nerve to ridicule him for doing it…To each his own its not your body get over yourselves, this is still a “relatively” free country. Mike’s comments were neither articulate nor intelligent, they were overly liberal and biased. People should not interfere with other peoples freedoms, ever. If a body mod makes you feel more comfortable in your own skin, then I say do whatever the F*** you wanna do. Cmugs you can share that bowl of dicks with Mike for all I care XD

OMG; in on photo the persons fingernails looking in the eye are filthy! Did he do this in an alley in Mexico? What an idiot. I know this is the culture of craving attention but this is too far.

@cmug
Mike’s comments weren’t articulate or intelligent. They were stupid and condescending. What makes one man’s stupid tattoo better than another’s?
I’m all for people bettering themselves on the inside, but that advice is a little hard to swallow from someone who makes such stupid comments.

I’m always astonished by how many people are painfully close minded on this topic. I have thus far the most eye tattooing of any living person. I have sat through three procedures and all of them where less painful then any of my skin tattoos.
Also I would like too add that my vision is perfect, I have both eyes tattooed completely blue, and most importantly I did not tattoo my eyes to look like something out of dune. The movie sucks blue is just a really great color!
Comment by josh blueye — October 22, 2008 @ 4:58 am
Really? You got both eyes done in three procedures? I read somewhere that this guy took about twenty for his one eye. I heard about this on the Taboo show and thought it was pretty cool. I’m considering getting one of my eye’s done in orange.

[...] while doing some research on patterns that cause epileptic seizures for a graphic design project, i stumbled upon a new frontier of body modification techniques….eyeball tattoos. apparently, the technique has been done before on blind eyes to disguise corneal defects. the results are pretty impressive. now intrepid young folks are volunteering their healthy eyes, just as a proof of concept. effing crazy.
